Wilhelm Habsburg (1895–1948) – Austrian Archduke from the Habsburg dynasty, politician, diplomat, poet, colonel of the Legion of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen and the Army of the UNR. He became one of the few representatives of the upper aristocratic class who, through his own active participation in the national liberation struggle, shaped the international image of Ukraine.
The figure of Wilhelm von Habsburg is an important testimony to the common historical past of Austria and Ukraine. Without losing Austrian aristocracy and inherent Europeanness, he became one of those who nurtured the emergence of modern Ukrainians.
Join the joint discussion to open new horizons of intercultural dialogue together!
