JESH – Joint Excellence in Science and Humanities

The Austrian Academy of Sciences has opened the call for applications for the JESH (Joint Excellence in Science and Humanities) programme, supporting international research cooperation between early career researchers and Austrian academic institutions.

The programme offers incoming fellowships for researchers from 61 target countries as well as outgoing opportunities for Austrian scholars.

Target group:

Early career researchers with a maximum of 10 years of research experience after completing their PhD/doctorate.

Eligible host institutions in Austria:

public universities

Austrian Academy of Sciences

publicly funded research institutions

 Funding duration: 1–6 months

 Application deadline: July 7, 2026
