Warmest congratulations to Dr. Miklós Both!
Dr. Miklós Both, Director General of the House of Traditions, composer and ethnologist, has been honoured with the Ukrainian state award “Amber Heart” (Бурштинове серце) in recognition of his long-standing commitment to preserving, documenting and promoting Ukrainian folk music heritage internationally.
At the heart of his more than decade-long research is the Polyphony Project – an extensive initiative dedicated to researching and preserving Ukrainian traditional music. Dr. Miklós Both also presented the project in Vienna at an event organised in cooperation with the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, and the Austrian Cooperation Office in Lviv.
We are particularly pleased to see this long-standing work receive such recognition. It makes an important contribution to safeguarding Ukraine’s intangible cultural heritage, bringing it to international audiences and strengthening cultural dialogue between Ukraine and other European countries.
We warmly congratulate Dr. Miklós Both on this special and well-deserved recognition and wish him continued inspiration, new research and many further projects dedicated to preserving and sharing Ukraine’s musical heritage!
