International Symposium about war in Vienna
On 22 September 2026, Vienna City Hall will host the international symposium “Ukraine: War and War Crimes”, bringing together representatives of diplomacy, politics and academia, as well as military and legal experts.
The discussions will focus on Russia’s war against Ukraine, war crimes and international justice, a special tribunal and reparations, as well as Ukraine’s reconstruction and its European future.
Participants include Kaja Kallas, Vasyl Khymynets, Wolfgang Mueller, Markus Reisner, Anton Korynevych, Jörg Polakiewicz, and other international experts. The programme will conclude with a musical performance by Ukrainian soprano and soloist of the National Opera of Ukraine Susanna Chakhoian.
Ukraine Office Austria is contributing to the organisation of the symposium, continuing its commitment to strengthening Ukrainian-Austrian dialogue and ensuring the visibility of Ukrainian perspectives in Austria’s academic and public discourse.
