Lecture by Julia Ostroverkhova
On May 6th, first- and second-year students at the Institute for Intercultural Communication and Translation Studies at Ivan Franko University in Lviv had the wonderful opportunity to meet with cultural manager, producer, and presenter Julia Ostroverkhova as part of a collaboration with the Austrian Cooperation Office in Lviv.
The meeting took place in an open and pleasant atmosphere. Discussions covered various aspects of professional development, experiences in the field of translation, and questions related to learning German.
A particular focus was placed on the specific characteristics of Austrian German—its vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural nuances, which are of great importance for aspiring translators.
Furthermore, the discussion touched on translation practice, opportunities for developing practical skills, and the role of artificial intelligence in modern translation work.
