About
A broad scope of activities
Since the 1990s Austria has maintained a network for its cultural activities and cooperation projects in the fields of science and education in Ukraine. Today, the Austrian Cultural Forum Kyiv and the Austrian Cooperation Office Lviv form the core of this network.
Both institutions aim to actively participate in Ukrainian cultural and scientific life and support projects which lead to various forms of long-term Austrian-Ukrainian cooperation.
Our scope of activities is broad and stretches from projects for the preservation of our common cultural heritage to the presentation of contemporary Austrian art and the discussion of future topics. Furthermore, we support the cultural and scientific exchange between our countries in the form of residencies and scholarships which are offered by various Austrian institutions and bodies.

Ukraine Office Austria
The Ukraine Office, established within the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2022, aims to maintain cultural relations and the educational network between Austria and Ukraine during the war.
We support the presentation of Ukraine as an independent cultural nation. We also try to support artists, cultural workers and scientists who have come to Austria and integrate them into the local cultural and scientific sector.
The Ukraine Office Austria is a cooperation between the Austrian Cultural Forum Kyiv and the Austrian Cooperation Office Lviv.
Culture in the virtual space
The COVID-19 pandemic has not only posed new challenges. It has also given us the opportunity to present more culture in the virtual space.
With our productions KulturCafé, KulturCafé Gourmet, KulturKolleg and KulturPortrait which we broadcast on the Facebook Pages of the Austrian Cultural Forum Kyiv and of the Austrian Cooperation Office Lviv, we bring culture live to your home or to your smartphone. Recordings of all shows are available on the Facebook-Pages of the Austrian Cultural Forum Kyiv and the Austrian Cooperation Office Lviv.
If you are interested in more online culture from Austria, check out the platform Creative Online International which gives you an overview of the comprehensive cultural offerings in Austria that are available in the virtual space.
Dialogue for a common Europe
All of our projects are based on the desire to further deepen the dialogue between Ukraine and Austria at various levels and to create encounters that allow us to know more about each other and to understand each other even better.
A special concern of ours is the dialogue between Austrian and Ukrainian artists, which contributes to the building of European creative networks.
Within the framework of artist residencies, master classes and workshops, creative people from both countries have the opportunity to inspire each other and experience diverging cultural traditions as an enrichment.
