Borys Lyatoshynskyi is a Ukrainian composer who managed to launch the evolution of Ukrainian academic music in the 20th century. Having formed his own modern musical language, Boris Lyatoshynskyi was accused by the Soviet leadership of “formalism”. The composer lived in the legendary Kyiv writer’s house Rolit on Khmelnytskyi Street, which Kyiv residents know by the record number of memorial plaques. His apartment, in fact, will be the focal point of the action, which is essentially a play around Lyatoshinsky’s music. A search game, a game, sometimes ironic, sometimes even dramatic.
On this day, the building will come to life and turn into a whimsical space in which someone will be lucky enough to “catch” Mr. Lyatoshinsky.
The viewer will be able to immerse himself in the atmosphere of the artist’s apartment – a space in which electro-acoustic sounds, movement, play, light, walls, and objects are all part of one multidimensional musical score. A space in which everything is music.
