Now you can be one of the first to hear fragments of the opera.
The score of the opera "Creon" by Dmytro Bortnyansky was restored with the support of the Ukraine-Austria Office under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria.
Dmytro Bortnyanskyi is a famous composer, conductor and teacher of the XVIII-XIX centuries. Born in Ukraine, the composer studied for 10 years in Italy with the support of Baldassare Galuppi, where he learned the latest musical trends. That is why his work organically combines Western European features and Ukrainian authenticity. The score of the opera “Creon”, based on the ancient story about the king of Thebes, was lost for a long time. Until recently it was found in one of the libraries of Lisbon.

During the event, there will be a panel discussion about the composer’s work and a presentation of an aria from an opera performed by opera singer Elena Leser.
