The Merano Academy is a specialized study academy for opera, operetta, musical and concert singers and for piano accompanists.
It offers comprehensive and systematic advice for singers who are advanced in their training in the areas of breathing and voice technique, interpretation and music-dramatic presentation. 4 stages are offered per year.
This evening you will hear 4 participants from the Winter Stage 2023.
For the Spring Stage in May, the musical and scenic development of Puccini's "Suor Angelica", for them Summer Stage "Orfeo & Euridice" by Gluck with performances in front of the Apollo Temple in Corinth and for the Autumn Stage Pergolesi's "Serva Padrona" and Mozart's "Bastien & Bastienne" are planned.
In addition, the academy participants take part in various other concerts. The participants are selected by audition and receive free accommodation and a small reimbursement of expenses.
Richard Josef Sigmund is the artistic director.
On the one hand, the concert offers young singers the tried and tested opportunity to present themselves to experts and, on the other hand, for concertgoers to experience young singers on their way to a career and to enjoy beautiful voices.
