In her most recent novel "Finde einem Schwan ein Boot" [tr: Find a Boat for a Swan], Weidenholzer creates a sadly comical ethnography of the heart of society and illuminates the abysses of social normality. In her novel, which is set in a block of flats in a central European city, she talks of living together as a compromise and of the longing for a home. "Anna Weidenholzer’s texts have something of a floating fairy-tale quality without losing their grip on an often harsh reality" (Wiener Zeitung).
