concert of German baroque sacred music
We invite you to experience “Jesu, meine Freude” — a concert program dedicated to sacred music of the 17th century, offering a space for attentive listening, inner reflection, and contemplation.
The program features works by Heinrich Schütz, Dieterich Buxtehude, Johann Rosenmüller, and Johann Heinrich Schmelzer — composers who shaped the sound of the German Baroque. Their music intertwines word and sound, creating a space of faith, trust, light, and hope.
The concert unfolds as a carefully curated dramaturgy — from intimate sacred pieces to instrumental sonatas and culminating in Buxtehude’s cantata “Jesu, meine Freude”, a profound musical expression of inner joy.
A special highlight of the evening is the participation of Jörg Zwicker — Austrian cellist and long-time friend of Ukraine. For many years, he has supported Ukrainian musicians and continues to collaborate with them even during wartime. His presence is a powerful gesture of solidarity and artistic connection.
This concert is a collaborative project in which Jörg Zwicker acts not only as a performer but also as a mentor and curator, shaping the artistic vision together with the ensemble. The concept of “joy” here emerges as a shared process — living, collective, and deeply human.
