KulturCafé Special: Oksana Zabuzhko reads Ingeborg Bachmann
In the special edition of the KulturCafé, Oksana Zabuzhko will read excerpts from works by the famous Austrian writer Ingeborg Bachmann, which are masterpieces of modern literature.
Ingeborg Bachmann is ffor Oksana Zabuzhko one of the authors who laid the foundation for her literary identity.
"When I read Ingeborg Bachmann for the first time, I was impressed by our literary affinity," says Oksana Zabuzhko, "even our biographies you can see parallels: philosophical education, poetry, early short stories before we took up the novel... Shortly before her death, Bachmann wrote in her diary about the idea of creating an "anthology of the women's death". When I read these words, I got goose bumps: I felt like a traveler who, while conquering the desert, came across the skeleton of his dead predecessor who walked the same route but did not reach the final destination."
