In 2020, we actively worked on the topic of “Calliope Austria: Women in Society, Culture and Science”. Women, their talent, and contribution to culture and art remain in the center of our attention. That is why we are launching our new programme KulturPortrait in which we talk with outstanding representatives of the cultural scene about prominent Austrian female artists.

In the first show we will talk about Hedy Lamarr - a Hollywood star and famous inventor. This beautiful Austrian not only shone in the most famous American films of the 1940s, but also patented the technology of torpedo control at a distance. Currently, this discovery is actively used in science, in particular, in Bluetooth.

We will talk about Hedy Lamarr with the Austrian actress Anita Zieher. Anita Zieher heads the Austrian theater initiative and has twice come to Ukraine with a mono-play “Curie. Meitner. Lamarr. Indivisible”. Anita Zieher often plays the role of Hedy Lamarr and is well acquainted with her life and work.
