City Writer of Graz Residency
The Municipality of Graz invites writers to apply for a one-year residency to work on their book and take part in the city’s cultural life.
Who can apply?
Writers, poets, or playwrights who:
– Have an interest in the culture and language of Graz
– Have at least basic knowledge of German
– Meet one of the following publication criteria:
• at least one book published by a recognized publisher
• five published texts in literary journals or anthologies
• two published or broadcast radio plays
• one published or staged theater play
– Are open to engaging in dialogue between literature and the urban environment
– Are willing to participate in readings, lectures, and discussions
– Have a clear project idea to work on during the residency
📅 Residency period: September 1, 2022 – August 31, 2023
💶 Scholarship: €1,300 per month
📍 The writer will reside on the picturesque Schlossberg hill in the historic center of Graz.
