Austrian art therapist Mirjam Angerer-Geier in Lviv

From April 23rd to 26th, Austrian art therapist Mirjam Angerer-Geier paid an introductory visit to Lviv.

Mirjam Angerer-Geier is an artist and art therapist with many years of experience in the fields of culture, communication, and visual arts. She studied art therapy at the Sigmund Freud Private University in Vienna. Her work combines curatorial practice, international exhibition projects, and art as a therapeutic tool. At the heart of her approach is the conviction that images and creative processes can help to reprocess traumatic experiences.

During her stay, she visited the National Academy of Arts in Lviv, where she gave a lecture on art therapy. She also had the opportunity to speak with specialists who work with veterans using art therapy methods.

Furthermore, she learned about initiatives in the field of mental health, particularly during her visit to the Unbroken Center and a space for working with freed prisoners.

She also visited several galleries and cultural spaces in Lviv.

Special thanks to the team at the Lviv National Academy of Arts for their support and for organizing this visit.

Building on this exchange, further collaboration and the development of joint projects in the field of art therapy are planned.
