Austrian National holiday at the Lviv Philharmonic

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of celebrating the Austrian National Day in Lviv with a concert featuring Anton Bruckner’s Seventh Symphony, performed by the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic.

In his remarks, Ambassador Robert Müller highlighted the vital role of the arts during wartime, captured in the motto “Art versus Artillery.”

Lviv, like many Ukrainian cities, reflects the shared history between Ukraine and Austria. We were honored to welcome distinguished guests from government, diplomacy, local administration, business, academia, and the cultural sector. Their presence underscored the importance of Austrian–Ukrainian cultural cooperation and the ongoing support for Ukrainians in their struggle for independence and the preservation of their identity.
