Children’s Art Competition “In the Footsteps of Ivan Marchuk”
On June 6, Vienna hosted the award ceremony of the 2nd International Children's Art Competition “In the Footsteps of Ivan Marchuk”, bringing together more than 500 children from Ukraine and around the world.
This year’s theme, “Eternity Woven with Dreams,” inspired participants to create original artworks reflecting their own vision while drawing inspiration from the work of the internationally acclaimed Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk.
The competition jury was once again chaired by Ivan Marchuk, who personally presented the awards to the winners. The international jury also included Zoryana Kushpler, Yurii Vakulenko, Ivan Malkovych, Anatolii Furlet, Mykhailo Pozhyvanov, Dagmar Gluxam, the Director of our Office Andreas Wenninger, and Daria Alyoshkina.
Eight winners travelled to Vienna with their families to receive diplomas, commemorative trophies, art publications, and the competition catalogue featuring the best submitted works.
The competition was organized with the support of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine. The celebrations also included a creative workshop for students of the Ukrainian Saturday School in Vienna, led by jury members Anatolii Furlet and Mykhailo Pozhyvanov.
We sincerely thank all participants, parents, teachers, jury members, and partners for making this initiative possible. Together, we support young talent, promote Ukrainian culture internationally, and inspire the next generation of artists.
