Conference “Music Therapy: Practice, Research, and Experience”
On September 26 and 27, 2025, the 2nd Scientific-Practical Conference “Music Therapy: Practice, Research, and Experience” took place at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv.
The event provided a valuable platform for exchange among professionals from Ukraine, Austria, Germany, and Poland and also served as the launch of the newly published “Practical Handbook of Music Therapy, Part 2,” which was realized with the support of our office.
We are delighted that the Austrian experts—Dr. Elena Fitzthum, Dr. Dorothee Storz, Prof. Thomas Stegemann, and Dr. Monika Smetana—shared their expertise and contributed to the further development of Ukrainian music therapy.
Such encounters foster a shared European space for research, practice, and inspiration, in which music becomes a medium for dialogue, healing, and resilience.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the Ukrainian Music Therapy Association and Natalia Zhabko for their initiative and collaboration!
Joint projects like this demonstrate how cultural and academic cooperation between Austria and Ukraine can contribute to lasting change.
