Exhibition оpening of “Iron People”
On February 23, 2026, the exhibition "Iron People" opened at Vienna's main train station.
It was organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Austria, the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), the State of Lower Austria, and with the support of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.
Welcome speeches were given by the Ambassador of Ukraine, Vasyl Chymynets, the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Peter Potman, State Secretary Sevil Shlegel, and ÖBB CEO Andreas Matthä.
The exhibition features photographs by the Dutch photographer Jeroen Krings and focuses on the work of Ukrainian railway workers during the Soviet invasion. It tells the stories of people who evacuated millions under fire, transported humanitarian aid, maintained connections between regions, and kept public life running. The exhibition is a powerful testament to resilience, responsibility, and human strength in war.
📍 On display from February 23, 2026 to March 21, 2026
