Launch of the ISMJ 2026 in Vienna
This year's theme is "Reporting Wars: From the Frontline to the Timeline," focusing on war reporting in contemporary media—from frontline reports to digital narratives on social media and online platforms.
Participants will analyze how journalism changes in times of war, the challenges media professionals face in dealing with information, trauma, propaganda, and the rapid pace of news flow, and the role multimedia formats play in documenting events and shaping societal memory. Working in international teams, they will create multimedia reports that critically examine these issues.
The program once again spans two countries: The first project phase takes place in Vienna in February, and the second in Warsaw in July.
The project is being carried out with financial support from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) in close cooperation with the OeAD.
