Mozart’s “Requiem” in Lviv
We share our impressions of an extraordinary musical event!
It was here – within the walls of the Archcathedral of St. George, on December 5, 1826, on the 35th anniversary of Mozart’s death, that his son Franz Xavier Mozart first performed “Requiem” in Lviv. On the eve of the 200th anniversary of this historical event, the musicians of the Lviv National Philharmonic will recreate the immortal work in the same space – a place where music and memory are especially deeply intertwined.
