Mykola Khvylovy in German: Book Presentations in Bamberg and Augsburg
In June, two presentations of the German-language edition of selected works by Mykola Khvylovy, one of the most influential Ukrainian writers of the twentieth century, took place in Germany. The events in Bamberg and Augsburg brought together scholars, translators, students, and readers interested in Ukrainian literature and culture.
The special guest was Prof. Dr. Alla Paslawska (Lviv), co-editor of the volume, Chair of the Ukrainian Association of German Studies, professor at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, and Head of the Department of International Communication and Translation.
The presentations offered valuable insights into Khvylovy’s life and literary legacy, as well as into the process of translating and publishing his works in German. Participants also discussed the importance of Ukrainian literature within the broader European cultural landscape and the role of translation in fostering intercultural understanding.
Our sincere thanks go to all partners and organisers for their commitment to promoting Ukrainian literature and culture to German-speaking audiences.
