Poetry and Music Evening
On the occasion of the 155th anniversary of the birth of the Ukrainian poet Lesya Ukrainka, a poetry and music evening took place at the Orangerie Gallery in Palais Auersperg as part of the art exhibition “Lisova Pisnya” (“Forest Song”), referring to one of the author’s most famous dramatic works.
The event was organised by the Ptashka Project art platform in cooperation with the Austrian-Ukrainian Society in Vienna. The evening was opened with welcoming remarks by exhibition curator Tetiana Pytailo and Prof. Alois Woldan, President of the Austrian-Ukrainian Society.
Representatives of the Ukrainian cultural community in Vienna participated in the poetry readings. We would like to warmly thank Olga Aidinova, Oleksandra Saienko, Karyna Khadzhymatova, Olena Dvoretska, Helene Litorelle, Tetiana Ramus and Amadeiia Edelvais for their inspiring contributions.
The readings were accompanied by an impressive musical programme featuring compositions by Frédéric Chopin, Myroslav Skoryk and Yevhen Khmara, as well as Ukrainian folk melodies.
