Premiere: “Salty Juice of a Ripe Fig”
The long-awaited premiere at Jam Factory Art Center!
On October 3 and 4, the multi-disciplinary performance “Salty Juice of a Ripe Fig” by Crimean artist Daria Litvinenko will be shown. The project was created in our art center as part of the “After Devastation” program.
In collaboration with Austrian sculptor Jürgen Münzer, Daria developed a spatial collage that combines physical theater, absurdity, sculptures and masks, as well as documentary and fictional images. The theme of the work is the cultural and family heritage of Crimea and how Russian propaganda used the romanticized image of the peninsula to displace local history.
The Black Sea appears as a living organism, now shackled by militarization.
This is a story about home – fragmented and changed, but one that still exists in our memory.
