Presentation of the German-language Collection of Mykola Khvylovy’s Works
A presentation of the German-language collection of works by Ukrainian writer Mykola Khvylovy took place at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
The publication introduces German-speaking readers to the work of one of the most influential figures of Ukrainian modernism and a representative of the literary generation known as the “Executed Renaissance”.
Khvylovy was a writer, publicist and intellectual whose work played a major role in shaping modern Ukrainian literature of the 1920s. His texts combine literary experimentation with philosophical depth and a critical reflection on the historical transformations of his time.
During the event, participants discussed the importance of translating Ukrainian literary classics for international audiences, the role of literature in preserving cultural memory and the continued relevance of Khvylovy’s ideas today.
Events like this help promote Ukrainian literature in Europe and strengthen cultural dialogue across borders.
