Ukrainian books for the Austrian National Library
In recent days, the Ukraine Office Austria, operating within the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, donated more than 100 books to the Austrian National Library as part of the Ukrainian Bookshelf.
The donation includes Ukrainian translations as well as academic and literary publications by the Austrian Cooperation Office Lviv and the Ukraine Office Austria, whose publication has been supported by Austria over the past 28 years.
The “Ukrainian Shelf” forms part of the international Ukrainian Bookshelf initiative, held under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska. The project aims to promote Ukrainian language, literature, and culture globally and to provide cultural connection and support for Ukrainians abroad.
In the presence of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Austria, Vasyl Khymynets, representatives of the Austrian National Library Michaela Mayr and Annette Höslinger-Finck, as well as Andreas Wenninger and Isabelle Hiller from the Ukraine Office Austria, future cooperation opportunities were discussed — including training initiatives for Ukrainian librarians and joint literary events.
