This anthology of German-speaking writers from Galicia and Bukovina presents the multifaceted work of renowned literary masters from the late 19th to the 20th century, whose life and creative paths are closely connected with the national and historical-cultural development of the crown lands of Austria-Hungary. The main criterion for selecting authors was the Galician and Bukovinian topoi in the works of J. Roth, M. Sperber, L. von Sacher-Masoch, K. E. Franzos, Paul Celan, R. Ausländer, and others. The collection also includes German-language works by I. Franko, O. Kobylianska, and Y. Fedkovych.
