The story follows a tiny elephant who gets lost and sets off in search of his family. As he travels, the very small, endlessly charming, and touching little elephant explores a vast world and meets new friends along the way.

This collection includes four storybooks about the little elephant Winzig: Winzig, the Elephant (1985), Winzig Goes to the Desert (1987), Winzig Searches for Elephants (1988), and Winzig Finds His Parents (1988). The book also features illustrations from Winzig. The Big Book About the Little Elephant (1993).
