In her mind, she colors the lake to reflect her emotions. Whatever mood she’s in, that’s the lake’s color. Today, the lake is black. Gisela is 17 and pregnant. Her boyfriend urges her to keep the baby and live with him. Her mother insists she continue her education. Her father is at a loss. Will the lake change its color? And will Gisela learn to love herself and the world around her?
