From the Imperial and Royal Second Gymnasium to the Eighth School. 1818-2018. The First Austrian Period (in Ukrainian)

The history of Galicia divided it into four periods. The proposed book covers the first hundred years of the gymnasium's activity from the time of its foundation until the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The first two attempts to write such a "History", timed to coincide with the centenary of the gymnasium, were thwarted by the world wars. The educational institution needed a thorough study of its history, so the third attempt was successful. The work explores the time of the foundation of the second state gymnasium in Lviv and the history of the school building, reveals the educational process through the prism of the work of teachers and the education of students. Certain pedagogical techniques and methods have not lost their relevance in the conditions of the creation of a new Ukrainian school. The book will interest teachers, students, graduates who are not indifferent to the history of their native school.
