EATING SOIL

“Eating Soil” is a film essay that tells the stories of Colombian women, based on the memoirs of Laura Weissenberger and projections on her homeland. It is a study of Colombian narrative culture based on the stories of a fictional family, which is a metaphorical embodiment of society rather than the history of individuals. This film, which is similar in structure to memory, offers viewers their views on migration, hope, regret and perception of life.

Hills, orchard, house. Idyllic landscape in southern Serbia. Three generations gather under the roof of the house. The moment when the historical past of many people becomes the property of just one. Home is a complex concept and inheritance can become a burden...

TRANS*GAZE

Is it better to speak and stand out or to remain quiet? Sometimes reticence is not an option. In four stories the directors and their characters, using not only words, but also singing, dancing and even silence, reflect on gender and sexual identity, marginalization of LGBTQIA+ community, lesbian body in the patriarchy, social inequality and rasism. Let's listen to them. Curated by Sasha Prokopenko and Olena Syrbu.
