KulturCafé with Natalka Sniadanko

Natalka Sniadanko is a Ukrainian writer, publicist and translator. She spent the last two months in Austria, where she was a guest at the Q21 studio at the invitation of the Austrian Foreign Ministry.

Natalka will tell us about the Writer-in-Residence programme and her personal experience with it.

We will also talk about her novel "The Archduke who ruled the black market, loved sailors and became my grandfather".

It is an alternative biography of one of the most extravagant members of the Habsburg family - Wilhelm, who is known in Ukraine as Vasyl Vyshyvany.

The novel was recently published in German by the Austrian publishing house Haymon.

Finally, the author will talk about her new novel "The First Investigation of the Empress" (2021).

This is a historical crime thriller based on the documentation material from the life of the legendary Austrian Empress Sissi.
