Paul Celan 100 - Literary studies
Literary studies workshop on the 100th anniversary of Paul Celan’s birth.
The workshop supports research into Austrian literature and translations of Austrian literary works. In this regard, Paul Celan's works are of great interest. He is considered to be one of the best poets not only in Austria, but in all Europe. Extraordinary interweaving of the Jewish, Romanian, Austrian, German, French and Ukrainian cultures also shaped the uniqueness of Paul Celan's poetry. The author raises painful but extremely important topics, leaving an imprint on his readers.
During the workshop a lecture and a panel discussion are planned with Prof. Dr. Petro Rychlo, a literary scholar and translator, member of the Association of Ukrainian Writers, director of the Paul Celan’s Literature Centre in Chernivtsi. Prof. Dr. Petro Rychlo has made a great contribution to the research and translations of Paul Celan's works that can hardly be overestimated. Therefore it is planned to have a presentation of the translations during the workshop. The workshop should become a platform for fruitful discussions with the scholar.
