Online presentation and meeting with the author of the translation Halyna Petrosanyak (Switzerland).

The Sonnets to Orpheus are a cycle of poems by Rainer Maria Rilke. He wrote the 55 sonnets in February 1922 at Muzot casstle in Switzerland. Rilke describes his work in the subtitle as as "a memorial for Wera Ouckama Knoop". The girl was a dancer and died of leukemia at the age of eighteen.

The sonnets to Orpheus are full of archaic motifs, including reminiscences to the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. At the same time, they present the poet's reflections on his contemporaneity, the modern age.
