book presentation in Bamberg
On June 11, 2026, the University of Bamberg will host the presentation of a new German-language volume featuring works by one of the most important figures of Ukrainian modernism — Mykola Khvylovy.
The event will feature Prof. Dr. Alla Paslawska from Lviv, co-editor of the volume and a renowned scholar of literature and translation studies.
Mykola Khvylovy was one of the central voices of the Executed Renaissance — a generation of Ukrainian artists whose cultural breakthrough was violently interrupted by Stalinist terror. The volume “Wahnsinnig liebe ich das Leben” presents a representative selection of his prose and poetry in German for the first time, opening an important gateway to Ukrainian literary history for German-speaking audiences.
