Anthology of Modern Austrian Prose (in Ukrainian)
The edition was edited by Wolfgang Müller-Funk, Vera Faber, Ivan Megela.
The anthology contains works by thirteen modern writers, including seven women. The texts for this edition were selected, although subjectively, but not unsystematically or arbitrarily. In particular, we took into account a certain representativeness, as well as the diversity of the works. Most of the works collected here belong to the canon of modern Austrian literature. Important criteria were also the reproduction of the continuity of the Austrian literary tradition and the public recognition of the authors. The works collected in the anthology are able to satisfy the tastes of a different readership: those who are looking for psychologism and drama in human life; and those who are interested in narrative prose based on relationships in modern society, socio-political conflicts, problems of globalization, emigration, traumas of the historical past and such a multi-valued Austrian complex as "hate - love"; and those who admire the beauty of the artistic word and are inclined to language-intensive experimental prose and erotically colored fantasies. Published with the support of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Kyiv.
