This is Celan’s most encrypted poetic book, which places particular demands on its readers. The poems engage in an intertextual dialogue with current political events, historical and cultural phenomena, and the mysteries of the universe. Interpreting these "fragments of reality" is made even more complex by the poet's extremely condensed and figurative language. Snow Part is therefore regarded as the pinnacle of Celan's hermetic poetry.
