Austrian poetry can be heard offline at the X Book Arsenal!
This year the festival is held from June 23 to 27 in compliance with all quarantine restrictions.
The International Book Arsenal Festival is a major international fair where the book, literature and art scene meet and interact.
This year's offline programme of the festival includes also a video performance "Letters".
The performance combines works by contemporary Austrian female poets performed by Ukrainian actresses. The actresses also share their feelings and impressions caused by the encounter with the world of Austrian poetry.
Before the screening we will talk about Austrian women's poetry with the translator Mark Belorusets and the director Alla Zamanska. They will also tell us about the idea of the project “Letters” and their work on it.
The language of the event is Ukrainian and Russian.
Original poems (in German) will be projected on the screen.
The project is part of the “Calliope Austria” programme, which highlights the contribution of women in art, culture and science.The programme is implemented by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Kyiv and the Austrian Cooperation Office in Lviv.
