Video performance "Letters"
The performance combines poetic works by contemporary Austrian female poets, performed by Kyiv actresses.
The actresses tell of their feelings and impressions caused by the encounter with the world of Austrian poetry. "We tried to express our perception of the poetry with light, costumes and acting and to integrate this poetry into our present and into the space of the languages into which it was translated,” - director Alla Zamanska.
Language - Ukrainian and Russian with German subtitles.
The project is part of the “Calliope Austria” programme, which highlights the contribution of women in art, culture and science.
The programme is implemented by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Kyiv and the Austrian Cooperation Office in Lviv.
The event takes place as part of HeForShe Arts Week 2021, which is being held for the fourth time by UN Women Ukraine. The HeForShe movement, founded by UN-Women, is a global solidarity movement in support of gender equality, in which men and boys become the main agents of change.
